Member Relations
Health Shield is committed to its members and strives to offer excellent customer service. We value the opinion of our members and formally receive feedback from members at a series of Area Meetings each year.
Health Shield members are able to appoint their fellow members as Representatives in the workplace and these Representatives are invited to attend an Area Meeting which is normally held in March. Health Shield's senior management team give a presentation to report on business matters and subject to the number of Representatives present, they are invited to the Annual General Meeting as delegates. If you would like to represent your fellow members, please don't hesitate to contact Health Shield for further information.
We hold Area Meetings across the U.K. in Scotland, North-East, North-West, Central, South-Wales & West, and the South-East for our Corporate Representatives. We also hold an Area Meeting for our Direct Representatives.
The Annual General Meeting is normally held in May each year to approve matters which are required in law and also allow representation of members through a delegate system. The Annual Report & Accounts is presented and approved by the delegates present. Election and re-election of Health Shield's Board of Management is also dealt with at the AGM. Each non-executive Director is elected for a period of three years and retires at the relevant AGM. They are then eligible for re-election in line with corporate governance and appropriate approval from the Nominations Committee and Board.
