Members can claim back healthcare treatment costs up to their chosen annual benefit limit (subject to annual review).  Membership Plan contributions and benefits are reviewed each and every year to enable Health Shield to fully consider changing membership needs.  This means that the Plan may change in future, depending on various factors, including the levels of claims made by members.

We pay Claims quickly

Health Shield has a Key Performance Indicator to pay 85% of all Claims within a 2 day period.  Claims are normally processed on the day Health Shield receives the claim form and the money can be direct credited back to members’ bank accounts to ensure a fast and convenient payment.  If you haven`t done so already, simply give us your email address so that we can notify you of your direct credit payment.  This helps speed up communication and helps towards environmental considerations by saving on print and paper costs.

Non-profit making Friendly Society 

Health Shield has a Board of Management that ensures that the Society is managed in the best interests of the members.  Representatives are invited to attend a Regional District Meeting, usually held in March each year and Health Shield`s A.G.M. held in May.
