Health Shield – the award-winning corporate health cash plan provider – has clinched re-accreditation from Investors in People (IIP) on the tenth anniversary of its first endorsement.
The Friendly Society’s latest achievement cements its commitment to getting the most out of its people, while investing significantly in improving performance across the business. Launched in 1991, IIP is the UK’s leading people management standard.
Commenting in the report, the IIP assessor said: “Staff loyalty and dedication to customers is second-to-none.” It also highlighted the fact that Health Shield employees expressed considerable job satisfaction in serving the organisation’s members well. Overall, the summary concluded that Health Shield is a ‘most excellent’ company to work for.
Impressive comments from Health Shield employees also appeared throughout the evaluation, stating: “We are just like a family here at Health Shield − it is a great place to work.” Another said: “Health Shield always looks after its people − it really is a fantastic company to work for.”
Jonathan Burton, Chief Executive at Health Shield, was also commended by an employee for ‘not overplaying his role. He is friendly and approachable, even though he is the Chief Executive.’
Burton commented: “We are delighted to have been accredited by IIP once again. The whole purpose of our business is to improve the workplace experience through providing health cash plans. This award demonstrates our own ambition to create a successful company through excellent employee engagement that delivers higher levels of customer satisfaction.”
Health Shield continues to confound the market after increasing gross annual premium income to over £25 million in 2011. Despite difficult economic conditions, Health Shield has maintained momentum in executing its ambitious expansion plans, once again recruiting over 40,000 new members to the organisation last year.
Burton added: “In the report, one of our team members acknowledged that we move forward as a team, which they quite rightly pointed out was a major achievement. We are particularly proud that we have managed to retain such a high calibre of motivated employees throughout our ongoing growth.”
