Health Shield launches new company-paid scheme aimed at SMEs

Health Shield – the award-winning corporate health cash plan provider – has launched a brand new company-sponsored scheme designed specifically for small-to-medium-sized businesses.

Elements and Elements Plus, which will be available from January 2013, will offer SMEs with a cost-effective healthcare benefits option, while providing intermediaries with an alternative scheme for companies with three employees or more.

The new products will sit alongside Health Shield’s extensive portfolio of company-sponsored and voluntary schemes, including Tailored, Corporate and Flexible Benefits, as well as the off-the-shelf package, Essentials and Essentials Plus.

The new health cash plan – which costs just £1.35 per week, per employee – provides an extensive range of benefits. These include: dental, optical, chiropody, specialist consultations, health & wellbeing, health screenings and online health risk assessments. A 24-hour helpline is also available, together with a new 24/7 GP helpline.

Elements Plus has the added benefit of an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), which includes face-to-face counselling.

The schemes have been developed by a dedicated Product Development Focus Group (PDFG). They will complement other product enhancements being introduced by the non-profit making Friendly Society next year, as it strengthens its portfolio offering, in line with benefit demand and use.
Philip Wood, executive director of sales and marketing at Health Shield, commented: “At Health Shield, we understand that providing intermediaries and businesses with a wide range of voluntary and company-sponsored schemes is essential. We have carefully developed Elements and Elements Plus to meet the needs of people, whatever shape and size of their business. In a difficult economic climate, we are confident this will provide an invaluable and affordable option for those companies looking to introduce a health cash plan that covers the cost of everyday healthcare.”
