Health Shield – the award-winning corporate health cash plan provider – has raised over £250 for charity, as it celebrated Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee with a fun picnic party.
The princely sum, which will be donated to Beating Bowel Cancer, was raised by the Health Shield team through an enjoyable lunchtime event to help people get in the mood and celebrate the Jubilee festivities.
Members of the team were able to donate a pound to take part in the Friendly Society’s Jubilee ‘dress down day’, turning up to work dressed in red, white and blue.
The Jubilee celebrations got off to a flying start with the picnic, which was followed by a cake sale and charity fundraising event.
Jonathan Burton, Chief Executive at Health Shield, commented: “As a 135-year-old organisation, with a strong and rich heritage of our own, we are extremely proud to help celebrate the Jubilee. We could not think of a better way to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s 60 years on the throne than by showing our support for a fantastic cause.
“Beating Bowel Cancer is making a significant difference to the lives of those affected by the illness, including Maxine Wilson, our Finance Director, who was recently diagnosed with the disease. We are delighted that this money will go towards helping the charity continue its valuable work.”
This latest fundraising activity for Beating Bowel Cancer cements Health Shield’s ongoing commitment to the charity with several other events planned for the near future.
Health Shield’s CEO added “The entire team joined in the festivities to raise a fantastic amount of money and Health Shield is delighted to match that donation pound-for-pound. We are thrilled that our charity event will help support those suffering from Bowel Cancer.”
