In keeping with their regular charity events, Health Shield Friendly Society held their own fundraising day in aid of Children In Need at their head office in Crewe last week.
Events around the country have been taking place over recent weeks and it all culminated with the final live show on Friday as the country aimed to top last year’s fundraising.
A fun packed day at Health Shield saw employee’s relive their youth by bringing in their childhood teddy bear to work whilst spending the day in pyjamas to raise money for the well-known charity.
On top of this, the entertainment continued with a tuck shop and a ‘Best Dressed Bear’ competition where the company’s popular cuddly toy was given a makeover by members of staff. Alter egos included ‘Space bear’, ‘Fat Bear Slim’, ‘Super-bear’ and ‘Bear Grylls’.
Health Shield chief executive Jonathan Burton said: “We have had great success this year raising money for various charities and we hoped it would continue with Children In Need.
“Myself and the team here firmly believe in generating vital funds for a wide spectrum of charitable foundations, and every year we try to think of imaginative and new ideas to help raise money for such good causes. We hoped the quirky and fun activities we had going on this year will have had the same effect as previous events.”
He continues: “Children In Need is a huge event, and we have tried to ensure that we capsulated the main concepts of the charity with our fundraising.”
Everyone at Health Shield raised a fantastic £133.50 on the day which is matched by the company, totalling a commendable Children In Need donation of £267.00.health shield scoops coveted industry award
